Category: Film Format
I have a lot of cameras. They don’t all shoot the same dimensions. In fact, some of them are designed specifically to shoot wonky-ass formats or dimensions intentionally.
Some formats are basically extinct, and are only made possible through modifying other film formats. Others went extinct, but still technically exist in another identical format. I can’t add descriptions on sub-galleries, so for a quick rundown:
* 127 barely exists, except if you know where to look. There is a small Chinese company that still produces black and white film for these ancient old cameras, and a few small sellers trim down Kodak Gold 200 120 film to fit, but I have had mixed results with both. I want to buy a gizmo that let me trim any film I like.
* 620 straight went extinct, but is identical to 120 film in every way except for the spool. I buy whichever 120 film I like, and respool it in a dark bag. It’s a process that takes about five minutes. I have more 620 cameras than I do 120 cameras.
