Let’s get one thing out of the way first thing: I am not a professional. I’m a guy with a camera collection. I’m a casual birdwatcher, and I take walks for mental health and a bad back, and both activities are made better by having a camera with you (or three or four). I also like retro things, so those interests intersected into what became a retro camera collection.
How long have you been into photography?
I took a class in high school, over 20 years ago, so about that long. It’s always been a hobby I’ve enjoyed privately though, and aside from that one class when I was like, 14, everything I know I’ve learned on my own.
Why is your site so bare?
I’m working on it. Part of taking photos for my own enjoyment means that I haven’t really done anything with them. Almost none of my photos on film are scanned, and I’ve only recently started ordering good-quality scans from the lab when I send my film in. I’m not looking forward to going through and scanning, so film uploads are going to be very slow. It was only around mid-2024 that I looked at everything and decided to start posting seriously online.
